HPG to continue Petition Drive

HPG to continue Petition Drive

Last Sunday’s Petition Drive on iPads at Balmoral Beach was highly successful. Hundreds of people added their signatures and simultaneously sent ‘Save Middle Head’ emails in numbers too big to ignore to:

  • Hon Tony Abbott, Prime Minister and Member for Warringah
  • Hon Greg Hunt, Minister for the Environment
  • Senator Simon Birmingham, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Environment
  • Ms Anthea Tinney, Chairperson of Board, Sydney Harbour Federation Trust

Our volunteers were overwhelmed by the community’s awareness and solidarity in opposition to the privatisation of public land on Middle Head. The prospect of public land being handed to a private developer for a large private residential development and windfall profits is clearly unacceptable to the community.

This Sunday 28 September ‘Save Middle Head’ volunteers will again be out in force at Balmoral Beach armed with iPads between 11am and 3pm. Please come and help!

Bring your (fully charged) iPad (we’ll provide free Wi Fi). See how many signatures and emails you can generate! Or help hand out flyers. The forecast is fine and sunny. Email  [email protected] for more information.

If you can help tomorrow please email us at [email protected] and let us know.

Location: The Wishing Well at the northern end of Balmoral Beach esplanade not far from the bus shelter and public amenities (opposite Hunter Park on The Esplanade between Hunter and Lower Almora Streets). Look for HPG volunteers wearing green ‘Save Middle Head’ caps.

Public Transport: Bus 238, 245 and 257
