Lest We Forget. 10 Terminal’s Heritage.

Ray ‘Simmo’ Simpson (featured in the photo montage above) trained at 10 Terminal as a member of Australia’s first contingent to go to Vietnam in 1962. ‘Simmo’ was awarded the Victoria Cross, Distinguished Conduct Medal and the United States Silver Star and Bronze Star. ‘Simmo’ is in the front row far left of this photograph taken in front of 10 Terminal in 1962.

    Brigadier Kevin O’Brien retired and Major Ian Brookes retired visited 10 Terminal, Middle Head yesterday, Tuesday 11 November 2014, Remembrance Day.

    Brigadier Kevin O’Brien served on the Board of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust from 1998 to 2010. Major Ian Brookes was the last Commanding Officer at 10 Terminal when the Australian Army vacated it.

    Both men have In-depth knowledge of 10 Terminal’s military heritage and its importance. They both oppose the proposed private aged care development on public parkland.
