This is our last opportunity to make submissions to Canberra protesting that the 10 terminal complex should be retained as heritage buildings and readapted for community use and cultural centre.

    Leave all the headlands alone. Once gone – gone for always!

    Whatever the principles – and the development would be in breach of plenty of them – a residential aged care home on this site would be a bushfire trap and a huge tragedy waiting to happen. Madness.

      We should all re-read the publicity material contained in the website detailing the pristine nature of the headland, its magnificent surroundings vehicle made by the marvellous walks there are available and be reminded of why we must now do everything in our power to prevent the desecration of the headland with a development that apparently has been thoughtlessly approved.

      My fear is not just about the development of the aged care facility itself, but the precedent that this approval represents and the almost certain outcome with others who have no concern for the environment will seek to use other parts of the Headland Park for commercial purposes.
      It must be stopped.
      We should target Mr Hunt and his position as a member of Parliament.
      People power will win the day.
      We must now be heard and let Mr Hunt understand that voters have power and that motivated they will use it. We are and we will.


    The Trust have lost lost a unique tourism opportunity as a result of its proud military and aboriginal history plus the ecology and beauty of the environment. No vision, no hope. This Board and the GM have to go …
