Talk and Tour – Honouring Those Who Served

We would like to invite you to join us this coming Friday, April 24 to pay our respects to those who served in the defence of Australia.

We plan to gather outside the former 10 Terminal Regiment buildings at 4pm for a talk followed by a tour of the historic fortifications.

Students from a local school will attend to sing the ANZAC songs they have learned.

A brief statement of the history of the work of the Regiment, written by Lt Col (Ret) Dennis Collins, Commanding Officer 10 Terminal Regiment, 1985-87, will then be read by Major Cathy Horne, a Defence Officer who served at Middle Head.

The group will then move into the Sydney Harbour National Park at Middle Head for a tour.

This tour will include old military fortifications as well as the infamous ‘tiger cages’ where Defence Officers were incarcerated for days in an effort to harden them in case they were captured by the Vietcong.

Our aim is to honour all those who served and the debt that is owed to them.
